Acer is gearing up for a major shift in the PC landscape with its Copilot+ series, designed to supercharge AI capabilities right at your fingertips. Set to redefine computing, these cutting-edge machines are expected to make up 40% of Acer’s shipments by the third quarter of 2025, a bold projection that underscores their transformative potential.
These new PCs are not just about high performance; they’re about breaking new ground. Even without an internet connection, Copilot+ PCs will seamlessly generate images from text and translate languages in real-time, thanks to their advanced AI systems. Acer is enhancing user experience with innovative features, including a touchpad area that lights up to indicate when the specialized coprocessor is active, ensuring that AI commands are processed with precision.
Acer plans to integrate processors from all major approved developers, including Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD, into its Copilot+ lineup. The first models, currently available in Japan, come with a price tag of $1800, and though they represent a small fraction of Acer’s current offerings, the company is set to ramp up production, especially for the corporate sector. By next year, Acer aims to have Copilot+ PCs make up 40% of its shipments.
In contrast, rival Lenovo is targeting a 10% share this year, with ambitions to reach 50-60% by 2026. Acer anticipates that the cost of CPUs for Copilot+ PCs will decrease next year, further boosting their adoption. The overall PC market is projected to grow by 4% to 250.4 million units by the end of this year, according to Gartner, setting the stage for Acer’s ambitious plans to revolutionize the industry.
