In a move that promises to offer high-performance features at a budget-friendly price, Motorola has unveiled its new Moto S50 smartphone. Following the release of the Moto S50 Neo earlier this year, the Moto S50 aims to provide a balance of advanced capabilities and affordability, equipped with a MediaTek processor and running on Android 14.
Stunning Display and Durable Build
The Moto S50 is designed with a striking 6.36-inch LTPO POLED display that boasts a resolution of 2670 × 1272 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display features a 19:9 aspect ratio and an impressive peak brightness of 3000 cd/m², ensuring vibrant visuals and clarity even in bright conditions. The integrated fingerprint scanner enhances security while maintaining the sleek aesthetics of the screen. The device’s IP68 rating guarantees protection against dust and water, adding an extra layer of durability.
Advanced Camera System
For photography enthusiasts, the Moto S50 offers a versatile camera setup. The 32 MP front camera, housed in a top display hole, supports 4K video recording at 30 frames per second. The rear triple-camera array includes a 50 MP main sensor with f/1.9 aperture, providing autofocus and optical image stabilization; a 13 MP wide-angle lens with a 123° field of view; and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. This setup allows for 4K video recording at 30 frames per second or 1080p at a high frame rate of 240 fps.
Powerful Performance and Charging
Under the hood, the Moto S50 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, featuring an octa-core configuration with four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2.0 GHz. The Mali-G615 MC2 GPU ensures robust graphics performance. The device is available in two storage configurations: 12 GB of RAM paired with either 256 GB or 512 GB of internal storage. A 4310 mAh battery provides ample power, supporting fast wired charging at 68 W and wireless charging at 15 W. The USB Type-C port facilitates quick and easy connections.
Pricing and Availability
The Moto S50 offers a choice of colors and will be available in two variants: the 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage model priced at $310 and the 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage model at $350. This new addition to Motorola’s lineup is set to provide high-end features and versatility at an accessible price point.
