Motorola has introduced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Edge 50 Neo, while also announcing the global release of the Edge 50, which debuted earlier this month in select markets. The Edge 50 Neo stands out with its vibrant design and rugged, shock-resistant build.
The Edge 50 Neo boasts IP68 certification, ensuring protection against water and dust, as well as MIL-STD 810H certification, which means it’s built to withstand drops and shocks. Measuring 154.1 × 71.2 × 8.1 mm, the device features a 6.4-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2760 × 1256 pixels, a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, and an impressive brightness of 3000 cd/m². The screen is also shielded by Gorilla Glass 3 for added durability.
Unlike the Edge 50, which offers a choice between PU leather and faux suede back covers, the Edge 50 Neo comes exclusively with a PU leather cover. It is available in a range of striking colors, including “Sea Blue,” “Latte,” “Grisaille,” and “Poinciana.”
Under the hood, the Motorola Edge 50 Neo is powered by a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor, featuring four Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.5 GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz. The device is available with either 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and storage options of 256 or 512 GB.
The smartphone’s 4310 mAh battery supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, ensuring quick and convenient power-ups. To match its stylish design, the power supply provided with the smartphone is color-coordinated with the device itself.
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the Edge 50 Neo’s camera setup, which includes a 50MP Sony LYT-700C main sensor with a size of 1/1.56″, a 13MP wide-angle sensor with phase detection autofocus, and a 10MP telephoto lens with triple optical zoom. On the front, the device sports a 32MP fixed-focus camera. Motorola has integrated its proprietary Moto AI image processing technology, which works across all cameras with uncompressed data for optimal results, and also supports video capture.
As for the Edge 50, this model was previously launched in India and Mexico, and Motorola has now confirmed its imminent arrival in additional markets. The Edge 50 features the same robust camera setup and protective certifications as the Neo, but with a larger 6.7-inch OLED display protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and a 5000 mAh battery.
Powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition processor, the Edge 50 offers 8 or 12 GB of RAM and storage options of 256 or 512 GB. It supports 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, providing extended battery life for users on the go.
