Xpeng’s AeroHT division has revealed exciting details about its upcoming innovation, the Land Aircraft Carrier—a futuristic electric minivan paired with an electric passenger drone. Priced at a steep $280,000, this unique vehicle-and-drone combo is set to hit the market in 2026, marking a significant leap forward in urban mobility.
The public will get a sneak peek in November when Xpeng plans to conduct the first flight demonstration of the electric passenger drone. Production of the Land Aircraft Carrier is already in motion, with the construction of a dedicated factory beginning this month. Pre-orders will be available later this year, and by August 2025, a pilot production line will be up and running. The plant in Guangzhou is expected to churn out around 10,000 units annually, with the first deliveries slated for late 2025.
The Land Aircraft Carrier is no ordinary minivan. This three-axle behemoth combines an 800-volt electric motor with a hybrid powertrain, where an internal combustion engine serves solely as a generator for the electric motor. The result? An impressive 1,000 km range on a full charge and a tank of fuel. However, what truly sets it apart is its modular design, featuring a compartment for a two-seater electric passenger drone with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities.
Though details about the drone’s range and other specifications remain under wraps, they will likely be unveiled closer to the vehicle’s production date. Xpeng’s Land Aircraft Carrier promises to redefine travel by combining ground and air mobility in one seamless package, offering a glimpse into the future of transportation.
