New Clues in the Diablo IV PTR

The 2.0 update, now available on the Diablo IV Public Test Realm (PTR), has sparked excitement among fans with clues pointing to a potential revival of the infamous cow level. Dataminers have unearthed intriguing findings that suggest the return of this whimsical and challenging area.

Rusty Berdych and Familiar Items

One of the standout discoveries is a rusty berdych found in the test version, described as having a distinctive “smell of manure.” This item echoes the Cow Berdych from Diablo III, which was pivotal in unlocking the non-cow level. Its presence raises hopes that a similar feature might be introduced in Diablo IV.

Additionally, Wowhead’s datamining efforts have revealed four new quest items that could be linked to the elusive cow level: an unusual key, an old rusty bell marked with blood and a scrawled “W,” a crooked staff, and a chatty gem. These items bear a striking resemblance to the Wirth’s bell, shepherd’s staff, and murmuring stone from Diablo III, which were instrumental in accessing Whimsyshire, another secret level.

Mystery and Anticipation

Despite these promising leads, players are still in the dark about the exact location or method to access this new content. The clues are there, but the path remains shrouded in mystery, adding an extra layer of intrigue for the Diablo IV community.

Looking Ahead

The testing phase for the 2.0 update will continue until September 11, with the full release slated for October 8. This update will coincide with the launch of the paid story expansion, Vessel of Hatred, and the commencement of the sixth content season, Season of Hatred. Fans can look forward to exploring new content and possibly uncovering the secrets behind the much-anticipated cow level.
